This morning EGMUN News received this copy from an anonymous source concerning the Ambassador of Syria’s festive stay in Copenhagen during the EGMUN Conference 2011.

Misunderstanding in the Security Council?

Yesterday the EGMUN Press published an article about the Security Council’s resolution as to prevent a third world war. Those in favor of this resolution were the great nations of United States of America, France, Germany, Taiwan, Russia and Japan. However after the suggestion was announced in the GA, the ambassador of Japan informed us that the resolution USA presented, was not the resolution that the nations had agreed upon. The ambassador of USA sought upon the Press this morning to inform us that the resolution was indeed the one the nations had agreed upon, but Japan simply misunderstood it. We would like to underline that we have been unable to get a comment from the remaining nations of this resolution and therefore we can’t confirm that the information brought upon us by USA is the truth.

Announcement of the Security Council

Earlier this day the Security Council announced that a resolution forcing a trade embargo on DPR Korea had been passed. In addition it appeared that any form of interaction with DPR Korea would be considered an attack on the combined Security Council.

However, it has recently been announced that short of France, none of the remaining members of the Security Council was aware of USA’s intentions, and the Japanese represent in the SC stressed that the SC as a whole did not agree on the terms described by USA. On the contrary the resolution did not in any way suggest military aggression on DPR Korea, but rather supported a diplomatic solution. Furthermore it was announced that the latest announcement should be considered as an independent act of USA and not as act of the SC. It is still unclear whether France does still support USA in this matter or not.

DPR Korea ambassador condemns SC-resolution

Just now the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-il has ordered long distance missiles armed with active nuclear warheads from China. This is an act of opposition to the latest resolution to have passed in the Security Council on the question of how to secure balance of power on a global scale. The ambassador of DPRK, Alexander Blum Berthelsen points out that it is a fatal attack on the sovereignty of state and furthermore that the resolution completely misses other rearming nations such as UK, India and especially Israel and Iran. It also strikes the Ambassador how, “DPR Korea apparently is the only nation to disarm and ensure world peace.”

Fighting in the ICJ

Obviously the advocates of the International Court of Justice are supposed to combat each other as they are representing each side of an important case but even outside the courtroom the rows continue. Yesterday we witnessed a major clash between the president and one of the advocates. The discussion had nothing to do with the current case. The discussion was a result of disagreement concerning the procedure in ICJ.

The disturbances had simmered during the testimonies, where the advocates and the president were in heavy disagreement about the amount of time that should be used for interrogating the witnesses. The minute the president called for recess and the involved advocates had left courtroom hell broke loose. Soon a small crowd gathered around the involved parties and the discussion evolved into a fight. The discussion was ended by the president who used his presidential authority and demanded restored order.
