The theme at this year’s EGMUN is UN Criticism & Reform. We have tried to implement the theme into several of the fora, but ask that each issue on the agenda – even if it does not invite it – is thought of in a critical light. Because of the theme there are certain slips in the rules of procedure we have chosen to condone, as well as questions of authenticity that have had to come second.

Committees of the General Assembly
The First Committee: Disarmament and International Security
– Pursue negotiations on a treaty on general and complete nuclear disarmament world-wide, as required by Article VI of the Non-Proliferation Treaty
– Strengthen the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), in order to ensure the common commitment to all V (five) Protocols.

– Preventing and combating corrupt practices and transfer of funds of illicit origin and returning such assets to the countries of origin

– Revising the definition of genocide in UN matters
– The decline of scientific and cultural development due to wide-spread Internet censorship .
– Re-evaluate the measures necessary to comply with Millennium Development Goal 5.
The Fourth Committee: Special Political and Decolonization
– The steady increase of immigrants from the Baltic States into the EU.
– Drug-trafficking as financial aid to terrorist organizations.
– Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories
The Fifth Committee: Administrative and Budgetary
– Investing in the United Nations: for a stronger Organization worldwide*
– Review of the efficiency of the administrative and financial functioning of the United Nations
– Revitalization of the General Assembly

– Criminal accountability of United Nations officials and experts on mission
– Responsibility of States for internationally wrongful acts

– The withdrawal of foreign armed militia in Iraq and subsequent protection of civilians
